In short

Bring past customers back with messages they agreed to receive

Slide, by Synquic, brings past customers back with segmented WhatsApp campaigns of approved templates, Shopify win-back and reorder messages, and email campaigns with one-click unsubscribe and automatic suppression of hard bounces and complaints. WhatsApp templates are charged per message by category and the customer's country. Instagram cannot re-engage anyone, because Slide sends no Instagram message more than 24 hours after the person's last one.

Evidence

What these claims rest on

  • WhatsApp campaigns send approved templates to tags or segments, with scheduling and delayed follow-ups

Scheduled broadcasts to tags or segments, delayed follow-up steps, and an email fallback. Unsubscribed and blocked contacts are skipped. SMS fallback works for Indian numbers only.

  • Email campaigns support segments, A/B tests, open and click tracking, one-click unsubscribe and bounce suppression

A/B tests on subject, content, sender name or preview text; one-click unsubscribe; hard bounces and complaints are suppressed. Soft bounces are not suppressed and there is no list cleaning.

  • Shopify events trigger WhatsApp and email automations, including abandoned checkout and order updates

About 20 store events: abandoned checkout and cart, order confirmation, cash on delivery, shipped, out for delivery, delivered (fulfilment succeeded), review request, win-back, reorder, back in stock and price drop. Shopify is the only supported store platform; the cart trigger needs the storefront embed. A cash-on-delivery confirm or cancel reply does not update the Shopify order.

Pricing

How the cost is made up

The Slide plan decides which features you have; plans and current prices are on the pricing page, and paid plans start with a 14-day trial. Workspaces created with an Indian number are billed in rupees, and all others in US dollars.

Each WhatsApp campaign message is a template, charged per delivered message by Meta at the rate for the category Meta approved it under and the customer's country; a retention offer approved as a marketing template is charged at the marketing rate. Slide draws these charges from your prepaid wallet, separately from the plan, and stops sending when the wallet is empty.

Email campaigns draw on the plan's email credits. The exact per-message WhatsApp price for your account is shown in the wallet.

Fit and limits

When this fits, and what it does not do

A good fit when

  • Past customers who opted in to WhatsApp messages or email from your business.
  • A Shopify store with repeat purchases, where reorder and win-back events apply.
  • Groups of customers you can define from tags, contact fields and lifecycle stages.

Needs a person when

  • A past customer who replies with a complaint or a refund request.
  • High-value customers who expect a personal message.
  • Anyone who wants to stop one kind of message but keep another, since an opt-out blocks the contact on every channel.

Not established by this page

  • Any change in repeat purchases or churn: Slide publishes no measured outcomes for retention.
  • Whether a given retention message will be approved as a utility or a marketing template: Meta decides when it reviews it.
  • Where customer data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
Questions

Direct answers

How does Slide win back past customers?

Group them by tags, contact fields and lifecycle stage, then send a scheduled WhatsApp campaign of approved templates, with delayed follow-up steps, or an email campaign to a segment. For Shopify stores, win-back, reorder, back-in-stock and price-drop events start messages from store activity without anyone scheduling them. Unsubscribed and blocked contacts are skipped.

What consent do we need for retention messages?

WhatsApp requires the customer's opt-in, naming your business, before you message them first, and every opt-out must be honoured. Beyond that, each country's law sets the rules and they differ: South Africa, for example, allows marketing similar products to existing customers who could object at collection and in every message, while Qatar requires prior consent for electronic direct marketing. Check the rules for your market under locations.

How do unsubscribes and opt-outs work?

Email campaigns carry one-click unsubscribe and suppress hard bounces and complaints; soft bounces are not suppressed, and there is no list cleaning. On WhatsApp, Slide blocks a contact who opts out and skips them on every channel, but the opt-out keyword list starts empty, so add your keywords before the first campaign. Email sent by an automation step adds no unsubscribe and does not check those lists, so retention email belongs in campaigns or sequences.

Can we re-engage customers on Instagram?

No. Slide sends no outbound or broadcast Instagram DMs and nothing more than 24 hours after the person's last message, and Meta does not allow promotional content under its human-agent tag. Re-engage Instagram followers who are also customers by email or on WhatsApp, if they gave you an address or number and their permission.

What does a WhatsApp retention campaign cost?

Meta charges per delivered template, at a rate set by the category it approved the template under and the customer's country, so a template approved as marketing costs the marketing rate for each recipient's country. Slide draws these charges from your prepaid wallet, separately from the plan, and stops sending when the wallet is empty. The exact per-message price for your account is shown in the wallet.

Is there a page for retention in our market?

There is a page for WhatsApp retention in India, and one for email retention in Canada, where implied consent under CASL lasts 2 years after a purchase. Rules for other markets are summarised under locations.

Key facts

Key facts: Customer retention with Slide

Slide is a reasonable fit for a business with opted-in past customers on WhatsApp or email, and particularly a Shopify store, that wants segmented campaigns and store-triggered win-back with unsubscribe and suppression handled: those are built. It is a weaker fit if you want to re-engage people on Instagram, need revenue reporting for WhatsApp messages, or rely on list cleaning and double opt-in, which are not built.
