Where Slide captures leads, and where each lead lands
Slide, by Synquic, captures leads where interest starts: Instagram comments, story replies and live comments that trigger a DM; Click-to-WhatsApp ads, QR codes, links and a website chat button that open a WhatsApp flow; and website forms, popups and Meta or Google lead forms. Every lead lands on one contact record, matched on phone number first and email second. A commenter becomes a contact only once they reply in a DM, and an Instagram lead joins the shared record when the flow captures an email address.
What these claims rest on
- Newport moves Instagram comment interest into DMs and then WhatsApp
Published setup: 18 automations live; comment and story-reply triggers on Instagram; a route from Instagram into WhatsApp for longer conversations.
- WhatsApp leads can come from Click-to-WhatsApp ads, QR codes and links, website chat, WhatsApp forms and Meta or Google lead forms
Ad referrals are captured with their source, QR codes and links start a flow, native WhatsApp forms collect fields, and lead-form submissions trigger automations.
- Instagram automations reply to DMs, comments, story replies and live comments, with keyword rules
Comment-to-DM on chosen or all posts with keyword rules, public and private replies, story-reply, live-comment and link triggers, quick-reply questions, branching, and email capture into contacts. Story mentions are not a trigger. Image and voice-note DMs do not start automations.
- Website popups, contact forms, landing-page forms and ad lead forms trigger follow-up automations
Form submissions from popups (including on Shopify storefronts), the site form, landing pages and Meta or Google lead forms start automations. There is no double opt-in.
- Every channel writes to one contact record, matched on phone first and email second
Tags, segments, custom fields and lifecycle stages on one record per person. Contacts can be imported; there is no contacts export today.
How the cost is made up
The Slide plan decides which features you have; plans and current prices are on the pricing page, and paid plans start with a 14-day trial. Workspaces created with an Indian number are billed in rupees, and all others in US dollars.
On WhatsApp, a conversation that starts from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Facebook Page button is free for 72 hours when you reply within 24 hours; the ad spend itself is paid to Meta separately. Other WhatsApp conversations are charged per message by Meta and drawn from your wallet, including service replies since 1 October 2026 after the first 1,000 each month per number.
When this fits, and what it does not do
A good fit when
- Interest that starts on Instagram posts, stories or live sessions, where comment-to-DM can answer at once.
- Paid social campaigns that can send people straight into WhatsApp with a Click-to-WhatsApp ad.
- In-store, print or event moments where a QR code can start a WhatsApp flow.
Needs a person when
- A lead who asks to speak to someone, or asks something the flow does not cover.
- Leads with an unusual request, such as a bulk or custom order.
- A lead who arrives with a complaint rather than an enquiry.
Not established by this page
- Any change in lead volume or cost per lead: Slide publishes no measured outcomes for lead capture.
- A numeric lead score: what Slide records is the source, the answers, tags and lifecycle stage.
- Where customer data is hosted. Ask the Slide team before you sign.
Direct answers
Which lead sources can Slide capture?
On Instagram: comments on chosen posts or all posts, story replies, live comments and links, each of which can start a DM flow with keyword rules. On WhatsApp: Click-to-WhatsApp ads, with the ad recorded as the source, QR codes and links that start a flow, a website chat button and native WhatsApp forms. Elsewhere: Slide popups, including on Shopify storefronts, website contact forms, landing pages, and Meta or Google lead forms, all of which can start an automation.
Source:Instagram setup guideMeta Ads guideAutomation builder guideHow does Instagram comment-to-DM work, and what does Meta allow?
You choose the posts, or all posts, and the keywords that count, and a matching comment gets a public reply and a private DM. Meta allows one private reply per comment, sent within 7 days of the comment. After that you can keep messaging only if the person replies, and then within 24 hours of their last message. Slide does not send outbound or broadcast Instagram DMs.

Story mentions are not a trigger, and DMs that contain only an image or a voice note do not start an automation. Slide also sends no outbound or broadcast Instagram DMs and nothing after the 24-hour window. Comment, story-reply, live-comment, link and keyword triggers are built.
Source:Instagram setup guideHow do WhatsApp leads from ads, QR codes and links work?
A Click-to-WhatsApp ad opens a chat with your number, and Slide records which ad the lead came from. QR codes and links can each start a specific flow, a website chat button opens WhatsApp from your site, and native WhatsApp forms collect fields inside the chat. Conversations from a Click-to-WhatsApp ad or a Facebook Page button are free for 72 hours if you reply within 24 hours.
Source:Meta Ads guideMeta: WhatsApp pricing (opens in a new tab)Do website forms and lead forms feed the same contacts?
Yes. Submissions from Slide popups, website contact forms, landing pages and Meta or Google lead forms start automations and write to the same contact record as WhatsApp and Instagram, matched on phone first and email second. There is no double opt-in, so record where each person's consent came from in a contact field, and check whether your market expects more than a single opt-in.
Source:Automation builder guideContacts guideCan a lead that starts on Instagram move to WhatsApp?
Yes. A flow can invite an interested person to continue on WhatsApp for a longer conversation; Newport's published setup routes Instagram interest into WhatsApp this way. The person has to start or agree to the WhatsApp conversation, because WhatsApp requires opt-in before a business messages someone first. Once both conversations carry the same phone number or email address, they sit on one contact record.

Slide is a reasonable fit if your leads start on Instagram posts and stories, Click-to-WhatsApp ads, QR codes, or website and lead forms, and you want them all on one contact record with the next step automated: those entry points are built. It is a weaker fit if you depend on story-mention triggers, outbound Instagram DMs or double opt-in, none of which is built today.
